A short history of windmills
Stewarts & Lloyds has been providing windmills since 1942 when we acquired the South African license from Thomas & Son to manufacture Climax Windmills. Records show that by 1974 over 150,000 units had been manufactured and by 1996 over 200,000 windmills.
Stewarts and Lloyds windmill in the Kruger National Park
Stewarts & Lloyds donated a windmill to the Kruger National Park in 1972 presented to the National Parks Board on the occasion of the production of our 150 000th windmill. It’s located at the elephant water hole north of Skukuza.
